What Can Happen This Summer in Wrestling
June 19, 2021With wrestling being at a down point to watch recently with the lack off creative effort and various roster cuts has the interest at an incredibly low point leaving fans wanting and demanding more as it often does. So here are couple of things that could hopefully regain our interest in Wrestling this summer.
WWE Money in the Bank: With everyone focusing on Summerslam coming back with live crowds in August, the first WWE PPV back with the crowd on the road will be Money in the Bank. One of the more exciting fans interactive PPV is Money in the Bank, so expect some sort of big surprise return to get things started on a good foot hopefully Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks or both return in the Women’s Money in the Bank match.

Kenny Omega drops a Title: With Kenny Omega currently hold multiple championships (AEW, Triple A and IMPACT World championships) maybe if Omega loses one of those belts could regain some positive interest in AEW or Kenny Omega’s current title reign with broader crowd. My idea is simple have newly acquired star Andrade El Idolo defeat Omega in Triple A for their world championship to start to show some vulnerability in Omega’s run.

Brock Lesnar: I never EVER thought I would say this but Wrestling needs Brock Lesnar! With live events coming back and big plans for Summerslam in Vegas that seems to be the right time to have the beast return. Now whether if it is an appearance or match Brock Lesnar returning at that time come boast the viewership in WWE shows even if we all know it will be limited appearances.

The New Japan Pro Wrestling Partnership: New Japan Pro Wrestling is currently a hot commodity with the 2 big North American promotions in AEW and WWE. Although AEW claims to have a partnership with NJPW, but WWE lingers over this with potentially offering a more lucrative deal which is doable. My idea is the WWE swoops in and develops a new partnership with NJPW creating a ton of potential dream matches (Cena vs. Tanahashi, Orton vs. Naito, Reigns vs. Okada, Daniel Bryan) for hardcore wrestling fans and potentially bring in new fans with new stars.

AEW Back on Wednesday Night: With the NBA Playoffs in full swing forced AEW Dynamite to move to Friday nights at 10pm which has led to some less than desirable show being put on TV. So hopefully in the summer when it can return to it is normal time slot will hopefully lead to better TV from AEW like potentially starting Adam “Hangman” Page’s run at the AEW World Championship against Kenny Omega.
