RHR June Catch-up Review
June 23, 2025So, it has been a few weeks since my last entry and I thought I had posted a Money in the Bank review before my trip to Detroit, and I did not (Laughs). Well, it has been a bit hectic where I have been slacking with the RHR reviews, so here is a quick catch-up review as we head to the go home week for Night of Champions if the show is planned as scheduled despite the current global issues.
Money in the Bank was an ok show where the main event may have been underwhelming, but the surprise return of recently released at the time R-Truth returned to cost the team of John Cena & Logan Paul the match and gave the fans exactly what they wanted, and it was the Truth.

Monday Night Raw
R-Truth made a return to Raw where he gave an amazing promo and moment cutting his famous dreads off and went back to his name of Ron Killings where his unpredictability makes all this interesting. Becky Lynch during her championship celebration was attack by a returning Bayley setting up what should be an exceptional match to elevate the women’s IC title going into the summer.

Gunther got his rematch for the world heavyweight title and defeated an injured Jey Uso becoming the new champion making what is next for Seth Rollins and that money in the bank briefcase. Last Week Gunther had an unwanted surprise when a returning Goldberg showed up and challenged the Ring General at Saturday Night’s Main Event in Atlanta in what I believe is going to be Goldberg’s final match.

The king and queen of the ring tournament qualifiers started on Raw and Smackdown with some good 4- way matches that gave us a long-awaited return of Asuka who has been gone for a significant amount of time and looked great. The final four for Queen of the Ring are Alexa Bliss, Asuka, Jade Cargill, and Roxanne Perez where the winner of Perez & Cargill will face Asuka this weekend. And the King of the ring final four were Randy Orton, Sami Zayn, Cody Rhodes, and Jey Uso where the winner from tonight’s match between Rhodes & Uso will face Orton this weekend for the King of the Ring final.

NXT
The start of the month started off with a huge surprise on NXT with the arrival of Mariah May (Now Blake Monroe) becoming the newest addition to this already stacked women’s division on Tuesday nights and there was another fumbling loss for Tony Khan and AEW. Speaking of the best division in professional wrestling they also have had a series of qualifying matches for a fatal 4- way match to decide the number one contender for NXT women’s championship held by Jacy Jayne. Now will the newly acquired Blake Monroe jump the line after being attacked by Jayne & Fatal Attraction? We shall see.

Friday Night Smackdown
A lot of stuff has also happened on Friday nights, Naomi attempted to cash-in on Tiffany Stratton only for Nia Jax preventing that from happening which is an interesting twist in what is going to happen with WWE women’s championship. LA Knight is willing to go through Seth Rollins & Paul Heyman’s Alliance to get his chance at a world championship match. The king and queen of the ring matches have been the heart of the show on Fridays. Jacob Fatu and Solo Sikoa will face off at night of champions for the US title, where Sikoa is trying to reestablish his power on the blue brand but may have created a teaming up situation with Fatu and Jimmy Uso which will be fun.

Then our last real-world champion demanded a real challenger, and he got one in his arch nemesis CM Punk who stepped to face Cena at Night of Champions for the undisputed WWE championship where last Friday after an attack, Cena gave his version of the pipe bomb to Punk just like Punk did to Cena over 10 years ago which was incredible. Yet as we go into the show this Saturday, could Punk ruin this Cena farewell tour? Will Seth Rollins cash in this weekend? How does Ron Killings factor into all of this? A lot of fun directions this farewell tour and title reign can go as we go into the summer that ends with the 2 nights at Summerslam.
