NXT Battleground 2025 Predictions
May 25, 2025The other big show this weekend is NXT Battleground, which will run opposite AEW’s flagship PPV, Double or Nothing. The card for Battleground will undoubtedly be smaller than Double or Nothing’s, but there may be only a handful of exciting matches on this card, so here are my predictions for NXT’s big show.
The Culling vs. Josh Briggs w/ Hank & Tank
This 6-man tag may be one of the least interesting matches. My apologies to Shawn Spears. This is going to be a quick one here, and I am taking Briggs/Hank & Tank to win the match.
Winner: Josh Briggs/ Hank & Tank

Tony D’Angelo vs. Stacks Lorenzo
The aftermath of Tony D’Angelo’s family occurs tonight when D’Angelo faces the recently turned Stacks. I haven’t been the biggest fan of this whole thing. I don’t know why exactly, but I just can’t do it. D’Angelo clearly has something about him, but I will go with the upstart Stacks Lorenzo, with him stealing a victory to get his solo run on a good start.
Winner: Stacks Lorenzo

NXT Women’s North American Championship: Sol Ruca (Champion) vs. Kelani Jordan
Sol Ruca defends her new women’s North American title against Kelani Jordan, which will be an okay match. There will likely be some athletic/gymnastic moments in the match because both women have endless potential. As talented as Jordan is, I can’t see Ruca losing the championship she won at WrestleMania weekend, so I have Sol Ruca retaining the title.
Winner: Sol Ruca retains #AndStill

TNA World Championship: Joe Hendry (Champion) vs. Trick Williams
We don’t have to say his name, and he will appear (I have found a way to use this every time I know). Still, the current favorite of the IWC TNA champion, Joe Hendry, defends his title against Trick Williams in another one of the good collaborations between TNA & NXT. This match will be a potential show-stealer because Hendry and Williams’ styles make a good match. I will probably be wrong on this, but I am picking Trick Williams to defeat Hendry and become the new TNA champion to make things more interesting.
Winner: Trick Williams #AndNew

NXT Championship: Oba Femi (Champion) vs. Myles Bourne
The Ruler defends his NXT championship against the young upstart Myles Bourne of the No Quarter Catch Crew (Please change that name!). Bourne absolutely resembles Randy Orton and apparently has huge potential. Hopefully, Bourne will perform well in his first main event match, but there is no way Oba Femi will lose this match and the championship. The match will likely exceed expectations, but I am picking Femi to win and retain the championship.
Winner: Oba Femi retains #AndStill #TheRuler

NXT Women’s Championship: Stephanie Vaquer (Champion) vs. Jordynne Grace
Now, what I expect and hope is the main event of Battleground, as women’s champion Stephanie Vaquer faces Jordynne Grace. The best division in all of pro wrestling will potentially be the weekend’s highlight. Vaquer continues to show how awesome she looks in the ring (Again, I’m a guy, and this match will be another win for the male fans *laughs*). This will be the best match on the show, if not the weekend, in my opinion, and as dominant as Jordynne Grace has been, I am picking La Primera to retain her title in a banger of a match where the next challenger will become clear at the end of the night.
Winner: Stephanie Vaquer retains #AndStill
