WWE Bad Blood Review

WWE Bad Blood Review

October 6, 2024 0 By Right Hook Ray

Last Night’s WWE Bad Blood was a great show. While some clunky and awkward parts were noticeable, they did not completely hurt the event. Regardless, here is my review for the show and matching rating, which I have been tinkering with for a bit but decided to sit with the primary 1 to 5 rating (1 being bad and 5 being excellent because there’s no such thing as a perfect match if we can be honest) so I will start with the opening match that was the match of the night.

Hell in Cell: Drew McIntyre vs. CM Punk

I didn’t like that HIAC match opening the show, but I understand why they did it. The “WE WANT TABLES” chant is the most annoying in wrestling history. I never thought I’d say this, but I wish the Dudley Boyz never made tables famous.

Seeing blood in a wrestling match is always exciting, and Punk and Drew went all out! Drew McIntyre’s face was a mess, making the feud even more intense. This is, without a doubt, the best feud in pro wrestling this year. I’ve wanted a more combat sport feel in WWE and pro wrestling for years, and this match delivered. The little stuff makes all the difference in the product.

It was a great way to start the show! Another great fight. If this feud is over, it was incredible and exactly what the fans wanted. This wasn’t a stuntman chaos hell in a cell match, but an old-fashioned blood feud fight. Maybe fans like me are getting older, or just like professional wrestling, but we got that old pro wrestling feel in this match and feud.

RHR Rating: 5 out of 5 #MatchOfTheNight

WWE Women’s Championship: Nia Jax vs. Bayley

Nia vs. Bayley was okay, but unfortunately, it had to follow such an incredible match. The match had some clunky disconnects, which took away from it. Tiffany Stratton was the match’s star, and the moment when she successfully cashes in will be a big deal.

RHR Rating: 2 out of 5

Finn Balor vs. Damian Priest

Balor vs. Priest could’ve stolen the show. I hoped this match would springboard Balor back into the main event picture because it’s long overdue. Regardless, it was a good match. It probably could have been a main event match for Raw, but it was a solid match with more to come between them.

RHR Rating: 3.5 out of 5

Triple H’s Big Announcement

In the middle of the show, Triple H made a big announcement that fell flat. The announcement was a crown jewel championship for the upcoming event, where the winner of both Men’s and Women’s champion versus champion matches will be given this new title, which was a bit gaudy. The crowd and viewers probably were anticipating the long-awaited mid-card women’s title but got this instead.

Gunther comes out and starts going after Goldberg, who is in the crowd. This leads to Goldberg trying to get in the ring but being stopped by security. Then Sami Zayn attacks Gunther to build up their big match on Raw tomorrow night. This opens the door for the possibility of a Gunther and Goldberg match, which I’m sure excites many fans, but not me, at least for right now.

Women’s World Championship: Liv Morgan vs Rhea Ripley (Dominik Mysterio in a Shark Cage)

Liv Morgan vs. Rhea Ripley was fun. Rhea is outstanding in every way. Dom in the shark cage was funny, and the match was chaotic. Still, it worked out in the end when Raquel Rodriguez came out and attacked Ripley, which was a bit clunky (rough night for the ladies, I hate to admit), hopefully becoming a new member of Judgement Day.

RHR Rating: 3 out of 5

Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu vs. Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns

And then the main event. Jacob Fatu is a megastar, plain and simple. Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes’ entrances were fantastic, especially in Atlanta. The crowd was so energized for this match. Whether you like WWE or not, their main events feel like a big fight.

Again, the little stuff had the crowd into the match, and I loved it because This is professional wrestling! This match was good, especially with Solo Sikoa; the crowd was into everything. Once again, the littlest stuff made the match what it was. It will be unbelievable when Jacob Fatu and Roman Reigns finally face off. Jimmy Uso’s return was great, reuniting with Reigns and helping Cody fight off Bloodline 2.0. But it wasn’t over when a bigger surprise happened with the Final Boss returning The Rock, who was displeased with the image he saw in the ring of Reigns, Uso, and Rhodes standing tall to end the show.

Overall, Bad Blood was a fun show, especially with the early start at 6 pm. I don’t know if this will be new, but I’m here for it. The Rock’s return hopefully means we will get a Bloodline vs. Bloodline War Games match at Survivor Series, which would be perfect for that show.
