SummerSlam Predictions
August 2, 2024Saturday is Summerslam in Cleveland and that will be my first live PPV ever which is a bucket list thing for a life long fan so I will be there in person for this potentially great card. So, it may be a bit earlier than normal but here are my predictions for Saturday’s big show.
Intercontinental Championship: Sami Zayn (Champion) vs. Bron Breakker
This match will a show stealer, but it is time to give Breakker a big win and become the new Intercontinental champion, hopefully in a Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena Summerslam style match. Zayn can finally go on to the main event scene even in defeat.

Winner: Bron Breakker #AndNew
United State Championship: Logan Paul (Champion) vs. LA Knight
The hometown guy Logan Paul defends his US title against LA Knight which has been a long time coming. Even if it is going to be a home game for Paul, this is LA Knight’s time, and he gets some gold finally.

Winner: LA Knight (YEAH) #AndNew
WWE Women’s Championship: Bayley (Champion) vs, Nia Jax
Bayley defends her women’s title against Nia Jax as a result of Jax winning the queen of the ring. Bayley’s reign has been uneventful so far which is no fault of her own, Jax will do more than enough damage in the match but not win the title where Bayley will pull out the victory from the monster Jax. However, we will get a cash-in from Tiffany Stratton who takes advantage of the situation successfully cashing in her money in the bank briefcase defeating Bayley to become the new WWE Women’s champion.

Winner: Bayley retains; Stratton cashes in and wins #AndNew #TiffyTime
Women’s World Championship: Liv Morgan (Champion) vs. Rhea Ripley
This is one of the two big blood feud matches happening at Summerslam where Mami Rhea Ripley can get her hands on champion Liv Morgan to regain the title she had to forfeit because of Morgan. Dominik Mysterio will be factor into who wins and cost Ripley the match leading to Morgan retaining the championship, now will be by accident or on purpose? We will see.

Winner: Liv Morgan retains
Drew McIntyre vs. CM Punk (Seth Rollins as the Guest Referee)
The other big blood feud is going to be the match of the night, where Drew McIntyre and CM Punk finally get their hands on each other in what has been the best feud in wrestling this year. As if this match needed more spice Seth Rollins will be the special guest referee, everyone hates everyone reminding me and other fans of Summerslam ’97 with Undertaker vs. Bret Hart and guest referee Shawn Michaels.

This match can go either way, but I am going to go with CM Punk wins his first big singles match since coming back late last year much to Seth Rollins disliking that may turn McIntyre’s anger and frustrations towards Rollins after this weekend.

Winner: CM Punk
World Heavyweight Championship: Damian Priest (Champion) vs. Gunther
El Campeon Damian Priest faces the king of the ring Gunther for the world heavyweight championship in what may be the most uncertain match happening Saturday night. Gunther has his sights set on being the world champion, but Priest wants to continue proving he is the real deal and the face of Monday nights. I can’t ignore the potential breakup of the Judgment Day happening in this match with Finn Balor possibly costing Priest the match and championship, but I am going to lean towards that doesn’t happen and Priest upsets the ring general retaining his title which hopefully sets up a rematch in Berlin at the end of the month.

Winner: Gunther #AndNew
Undisputed WWE Championship: Cody Rhodes (Champion) vs. Solo Sikoa
Now for the main event of the show, where Cody Rhodes defends his championship again the new tribal chief Solo Sikoa. Rhodes and anyone affiliated with him have been dismantled by Sikoa and his new bloodline leading up to this weekend, I cannot ignore the possibility of Sikoa leaving Cleveland as the new champion.

But this new bloodline has to answer for their actions take hopefully gives us the much-anticipated return of Roman Reigns with the wise man Paul Heyman who will cost Sikoa the match and Rhodes winning the match. I can lie if this does happen the potential stare down between Reigns and the new enforcer Jacob Fatu will be crazy and what I have been waiting for.
Winner: Cody Rhodes retains

Also, I think we will get a surprise appearance from John Cena that would make the event more insane than it already is but, this Summerslam is lining up to be a very chaotic one where so much can happen, shifting what is to come for the rest of the year and I cannot wait!
