AEW/NJPW Forbidden Door Predictions
June 25, 2023Tonight, is AEW’s Forbidden Door where AEW and NJPW collaborate to make this pay per view of dream matches can happen. Usually, a large match card maybe tonight there will be some shocking surprises, but here are my predictions for the event.
- MJF def. Hiroshi Tanahashi to retain the AEW World Heavyweight Championship
- Adam Cole def. “Filthy” Tom Lawlor
- CM Punk def. Satoshi Kojima to advance in the Owen Hart Cup tournament with some strong reactions from the crowd tonight.
- Sting, Darby Allin and Tetsuya Naito def. Le Suzuki Gods (Chris Jericho, Minoru Suzuki, and Sammy Guevara) in the 6-man tag where the breakup of Sammy Guevara from the JAS starts tonight.
- The Elite (Young Bucks & Adam Page), Eddie Kingston, and Tomohiro Ishii def. Blackpool Combat Club (Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, and Wheeler Yuta), Konosuke Takeshita, and Shota Umino.
- Toni Storm def. Willow Nightingale to retain the AEW Women’s World Championship, post-match Thunder Rosa returns to challenge Storm for the championship.
- Katsuyori Shibata def. Zack Sabre Jr, Daniel Garcia, and Orange Cassidy to become the new AEW International Championship, I know it’s unlikely and Cassidy retains but maybe I will be right on this one.
- SANADA def. Jungle Boy Jack Perry to retain the IWGP World Heavyweight championship in hopefully quick fashion.
- Will Ospreay def. Kenny Omega becomes the IWGP United States Heavyweight championship setting up the rubber match down the line will be a good match regardless.
- Bryan Danielson def. Kazuchika Okada in the match of the night and probably a match of the year candidate in a lot of circles.
