The Good and The Bad of The HHH Era (So far)

It has been a little bit over 100 days since the Triple H era took over the WWE. Now we love to have enjoyed this regime so far, but I feel we can admit that not everything has been a hit to say the least, so let’s go over the good and not so good of the Triple H era thus far.

The Good

The Returns:  Something Triple H is homing in on obviously is returning previous talent that was released from WWE but had disappointing stints on main roster or were a part of his NXT system. The obvious big hitters with the return of Karrion Kross and Bray Wyatt headline it but the returns of Dakota Kai and IYO SKY (Shari) with Bayley, Johnny Gargano, Dexter Lumis, Santos Escobar, and Legado El Fantasma with Zelina Vega have been good surprises to the new landscape of WWE with hopefully more good ones are to come.

Full Names and Forbidden things: One of the things we wrestling fans griped about for a while with WWE under Vince McMahon was the name shortening, name changes and ban of certain words or terms simply drove us insane. Well, when Triple H took over all of that change immediately, with full names being again (Matt Riddle, Austin Theory, Tommaso Ciampa) and the use of words like belt and wrestler along with the acknowledgement of outside companies like NJPW and PWG to reminding us of previous storylines and rivalries to connect things has been refreshing to see and hear for us fans with just a simple respect to our intelligence and knowledge can go a long way.

Judgement Day: One the situations that seemed dim and doomed to fail was the Judgement Day, from Edge out for Finn Balor to the direction of being a supernatural group or not, Triple H came in and save the group by simplifying the group being a dark, ominous evil group that ironically is compiled of some of Triple H’s favorites in Finn Balor, Damien Priest, and Rhea Ripley. Adding Dominik Mysterio has helped him and the group potentially making this a main event group going forward.

The Bad

The Returns:  Ironically one the bad points of the Triple H era have been.. THE RETURNS (laughs) As much as we have loved the returns of certain people there have been some returns that simply have not been good. The brightest example of this has been the return of Hit Row which simply is not as impactful without the lead of Swerve Strickland who is prospering currently in AEW so the return of Hit Row probably could have been shelved.

Another return that didn’t excite as much as we hoped was the return of Emma who came back a couple of weeks ago to face Ronda Rousey, now her talent and experience will do wonders for the current women’s roster for sure but perhaps a portion of the fan base does not remember her but hopefully can be good return and fresh face in the women’s title picture.

Little Too Much Gargano: It’s well documented that Triple H and the current regime are huge fans of Johnny Gargano, and boy it is showing with the amount of airtime he has had recent RAW episodes. Nothing again Johnny Wrestling but this could turn against everyone and be potentially rejected so hopefully they pull back on Gargano and get him in the scrappy underdog role he is excellent at and not the snarky, kind of comical “The Way” version of himself that was Lukewarm at best during the NXT pandemic era.
