2025 Right Hook Predictions & Resolutions

2025 Right Hook Predictions & Resolutions

January 6, 2025 0 By Right Hook Ray

Happy New Year everyone! With the new year comes new hopes and wishes when it comes to professional wrestling, so here are some predictions and resolutions I hope to see and accomplish when it comes to wrestling in 2025 before the first Monday Night Raw on Netflix tonight so enjoy.

Right Hook Resolutions

  • Somehow, someway find a way to watch or keep up with TNA wrestling. While there is a possibility that some stars may not be there for long, there are some wrestlers I would like to keep up with like Nic Nemeth and Moose. TNA has somehow survived this long so there is something to their madness after all.
  • I have been very consistent when it comes to AEW and my concerns, so in 2025 I will continue to be brutally honest and find something awful, but I will attempt to be a bit more flexible with the stuff towards some of the good things they may stumble upon. It is going to be a tall task but a personal resolution I have to be more positive/optimistic and not be negative so quickly which applies to my wrestling fandom when there is something worthy to be positive about.
  • My last resolution may be a little flat but is fair, while the honeymoon phase of the Triple H era has been great, there have been some things that make me and other fans a bit nervous that some old creative habits still linger in the WWE. So, this year I truly hope that Triple H breaks the cycle and gives a genuine attempt to display more diversity in his stars and champions. Some African American representation specifically outside of Bianca Belair which is impressive, but giving Montez Ford, Carmelo Hayes, Jade Cargill, and others would be good start even with very loaded roster.

Wrestlers that hopefully switch companies in 2025

 Ricky Starks

Malakai Black

Josh Alexander

Matt Cardona

Wrestlers who need a break in 2025
 Jon Moxley

Hopefully in 2025 Jon Moxley and his bad ideas are told to take a much-needed break.

 Chris Jericho

For the love of God, we all desperately hope that Chris Jericho starts a prolonged vacation or music tour in 2025, far away from AEW or ROH television.

 Bayley

As much as I do not want Bayley to go away, it may be the best plan and let her return with something fresh for her to work with and be the cornerstone of that Women’s division.

 Cody Rhodes

All the Cody haters and critics could get their wish if Cody Rhodes took a break this year. Rhodes has been nonstop over the past couple of years, so a slight break is possible for one of the faces of WWE.

2025 Predictions

• John Cena breaks Ric Flair’s record

The John Cena Farewell tour kicks off tonight with the first raw on Netflix, Cena is set to make numerous appearances this year and it is time for me to say this out loud. As much as I love Ric Flair as the 16-time world champion, that will change in 2025 when John Cena wins another world title becoming the 17-time world champion putting the perfect cherry on top his legendary career.

• Dave Meltzer gets phased out wrestling completely

My prediction is something I have been waiting for a majority of my wrestling fandom, the last few years specifically last year highlighted how foolish and out of touch Dave Meltzer is with the current wrestling scene. From the condescending interactions on social media, to his false claims to get likes, clicks, and views, to his absolute shameful defense of AEW no matter what has finally set the moment for everyone’s favorite uncle to step away from pro wrestling and maybe do away with some of the bad things that is in pro wrestling today.

• Seth vs. Roman will happen!

To end of a fun note, no one loves long term storytelling/crockpot booking like me but the inevitable big match between Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins will happen this year! Since their last match at Royal Rumble in 2022 a lot has changed with both stars where a match between them is needed, so I will make a bold prediction that Rollins and Reigns will face-off this summer to close out the first 2-night Summerslam event at MetLife Stadium to make it one of biggest Summerslam matches in history.
