Never say never, in Hell
December 21, 2023It’s a bit late and the wrestling world has covered it quite well because at Survivor Series hell officially froze over when CM Punk returned to the WWE. After his tumultuous ending with AEW led to the thing that many of us wrestling fans thought we would never see again. This return was a major move that has ended any idea of a war between WWE and AEW for good with WWE being the superior brand and product, so with Punk back in the fold there are so many fresh match ups and scenarios in the Triple H/TKO era where some things have started to develop but here are somethings I would like to see happen from this gift of a situation.

Punk’s return certainly did big numbers everywhere and created a buzz that certainly helps WWE going into Wrestlemania season, right away Punk appeared on Raw, Smackdown, and even NXT for their deadline PPV teasing us that he could sign anywhere but, in the end, Punk signed with Raw where the potential feud with Seth Rollins is now certain with him on Monday nights. Their interaction has been great and is exciting to see how this unfolds whether it happens at the Royal Rumble or Wrestlemania 40 this has been a long time coming especially with their comments about each other in various interviews throughout the years only adds more interest to their eventual showdown.

Add on that Punk officially entered the Royal Rumble along with Cody Rhodes created another situation of “Who will finish their story?” with Rhodes wanting another shot at the title against Roman Reigns and Punk in pursuit of finally being the main event of Wrestlemania certainly makes 2024 a very exciting year for WWE more specifically the road to Wrestlemania. Now what about the tribal chief Roman Reigns? Well, with the bloodline situation being far from over along with wise man Paul Heyman’s history with CM Punk leaves the door open for a much-anticipated show down with Reigns down the line potentially.

Triple H being open to bringing Punk back is the embodiment of “Doing what is best for business.” Yes, him leaving AEW wasn’t the best and his time there certainly left a lot to be desired, but this is one of the best things to happen in wrestling, for WWE, and for CM Punk. Hopefully, this leads to some exciting things for fans in 2024. This whole situation was a strong reminder for us to absolutely never say never because CM Punk is back in WWE with Triple H in charge, what a wild time to be a fan.
