Must see Matches for NXT No Mercy and AEW WrestleDream

September 30, 2023 0 By Right Hook Ray

This weekend is NXT’s No Mercy tonight and AEW’s WrestleDream tomorrow has a lot to offer if you are a fan but here are some must see matches from both shows, there maybe even be a couple of match of the year candidates in here.

NXT No Mercy

NXT Championship: Carmelo Hayes (C) vs. Ilja Dragunov:  The main event for No Mercy certainly steals the show possibly the weekend and won’t disappoint as champion Carmelo Hayes defends his NXT title against the always dangerous Ilja Dragunov. There may be 2 or 3 other matches that will be as good or better but certainly find the time to watch this match at some point this weekend.

Bron Breakker vs. Baron Corbin: This will certainly be the hoss fight of the weekend, but could low key be a show stealer as Bron Breakker faces Baron Corbin. Both men have be doing solid work on NXT that is quietly getting back some momentum, but this will be a hard fighting, physical fight that will be highly entertaining.

NXT Women’s Championship: Becky Lynch (C) vs. Tiffany Stratton: Since their exciting a couple of weeks ago Becky Lynch and Tiffany Stratton should be good even if it’s an extreme rules match. The Women’s division on NXT has been a bright spot for them and this feud is front and center. Hopefully this is another positive for Stratton in making her a serious talent and contender while Lynch’s star power hopefully brings new viewers to NXT in the process.

AEW WrestleDream

TNT Championship: Christian Cage (C) vs. Darby Allin: AEW’s Wrestledream is certainly a homecoming affair for some of the stars on the show, ironically the must see matches all feature hometown/state guys and we begin with the TNT championship as hometown underdog Darby Allin challenges Christian Cage for the TNT title. This should be a good match that hopefully sets the tone for the show and must see tomorrow night.

Swerve Strickland vs. “Hangman” Adam Page:  This match hopefully will be the coming out party for Swerve Strickland who is one of the bright spots in AEW currently and will have potentially a good if not great match with Adam Page. Swerve hopefully leaves Seattle with the victory and sets his eyes on to bigger things from this match.

Bryan Danielson vs. Zack Sabre Jr: This is a definition of a dream match for pro wrestling fans as we finally get Bryan Danielson versus Zack Sabre Jr. This main event is for die-hard fans but could appeal to casual fans as well because of the competitors. Outside of a complete disaster this will certainly be in the match of the year conversation and cannot wait for it.

Exciting weekend ahead for pro wrestling and we are in for some seriously good matches, so get everything set up, kick back and watch some potentially bad ass wrestling from NXT and AEW.
